● CANON POINT: Post Age of Extinction. Optimus has left Earth and has started his hunt for the Creators.
● AGE: Hella Old
● WORLD INFORMATION: N/A; not an OC
● HISTORY: OH LOOK, A LINK.
● PERSONALITY:
To start with, Optimus Prime is the sort of guy who you'd much rather prefer on your side than against it. An idealist at spark, he is an upstanding ideal of courage and freedom, standing against oppression and destruction even in the darkest of hours. His force of personality is incredible, a honed natural charisma that sets him apart as a leader of mechs, a hero of ages, yadda yadda yadda.
Long story short there? He's a gorram boy scout. It's the story of Optimus Prime across a number of dimensions; he who would light the darkest of hours, the Big Damn Hero Come To Save The Day, etc etc etc. But Bay!Op has a few different things going for him which set him apart from the rest.
It's been said that Bay!Op is 'out of character' for the general concept of Optimus Prime as a whole. Not only that, but that he acts more Decepticon(read; Bad Guy) in his methodology, what with his brutality and viciousness in battle. I'd definitely argue against that; not only that, but I'd even dare say he demonstrates some characteristics of what humans would call PTSD. Whether or not Cybertronians term it the same remains to be seen, especially with their war possibly having lasted longer than some of them have been alive. The fact remains that Optimus has been damaged by war, and the scars that it has left behind on his spark are brutal ones indeed.
Don't think so? In the past decade alone he has personally seen the discovery of his species' lifeblood, its destruction, his own death, coming back from death, by the way humans aren't your friends anymore, wait yes we are, killed a demigod, revived his old mentor, the betrayal of said mentor, humans hate us again, having to fake another death, coming in to save humanity by being forced to kill his mentor, the possible (further) destruction of his home planet, by the way humans hate you even more you need to go in to hiding and you have no way off this place, also the fact that you called all Cybertronians here and you're all now being hunted down like animals...
For a species that lives so long, having that much crammed in to such a short amount of time is quite a feat. In it, Optimus has been forced to redefine his view of humanity; while they are still a young species, they have proven themselves to be just as capable as great evils as Cybertronians. In a sense, Optimus considers them full equals- and that includes their ability to pose a threat. He cannot treat them as anything less, which is why he no longer holds back when it comes to his dealings with them.
Yes, the Autobots came to Earth to protect its people from their war. But when humans are responsible for hunting down and the murder of his own people, then they've started their own war, and thus forced his hand.
But Optimus ultimately doesn't want to fight. He is not so much a pacifist, but he is sick of war. He is tired of killing. He is spark-weary of death and while he will not hesitate to do what must be done - especially not in the heat of battle - if there is another option that can be considered, if there is time to consider another action, he will. Allspark, he'll gladly hear it, but there's often no time to hear such and there is only time to act and quite frankly, his method of dealing with things involving such an overwhelming strike, such a decisive blow, that you only need to act once.
In other words, he won't necessarily start a fight, but he will damn well finish it. Hopefully before it has the chance to spread.
He's been operating in war so long that he's all but forgotten how to operate out of it. Certainly, not every moment has been in the heat of battle, but there's always been something that sets him apart from his mechs. He's only gotten close with a handful; Ratchet, Ironhide, Bumblebee to name a few - and two out of those three are now dead. And while he's lived long enough to know that casualties are a part of war, Ratchet and Ironhide's deaths could easily be traced back to his decisions. Optimus is not without guilt - he feels every death keenly, even those of his enemies - but those two in particular weigh on him particularly strongly, because they were both fueled by the betrayal of those he had assumed were trustworthy. And so they were trusted in turn, and so had the opportunity to murder his friends.
At this point it's a bit difficult to get close to him, but when you do, you have a steadfast and loyal friend who is more than willing to take the hit for you. Not only because he knows he can take it, but because that's just the kind of guy he is. Optimus does not like leaving a friend behind, or a friend in need at all; if someone asks for his help, if he can, he will give it freely and without restraint. His selflessness has gotten him in trouble more than once, and has also led in part to some of the heaviest blows to his spark.
But can he do less? If it comes to the Cybertronian race or the entirety of the universe's species - it's an impossible choice, but it falls to him to put his foot down and say that there are some things that cannot be sacrificed for his people. That may make his people a sacrifice, but you can be damn well assured that he'll do whatever he can to keep them together and turn about that sacrifice. The impossible becomes only the improbable with Optimus Prime; somehow, he finds a way. If only through sheer, unbreakable determination and resolve.
● ABILITIES:
First off, Optimus Prime is part of a species known as Cybertronians. A robotic life form, he could be called organic in that such is their 'natural' stateexcept what are these hints of being created but they still stand apart from species like, say, humans. Metal instead of flesh, energon instead of blood, etc etc. Giant robot. Nuff said.
As a Cybertronian, Optimus has the natural ability to change his form. Normally this limits him to two modes; a 'root', bipedal form and a vehicular/movement-based 'alt'. Optimus is capable of changing some features of both - such as changing what type of spacetruck he is to better blend in with the ones he happens to be driving about - but in general, they can only change so much. He's a Transformer, not a protean shapeshifter. [Or one of those Transformium drones. Can't humans make up their own names?]
In addition to such, Optimus is...well...for lack of a better phrase? Built like a truck. Even among his own species, he's exceptional in combat, matched by few to none- and able to take hits like none other. The Cybertronians in general can continue functioning even with damage that would cripple an organic, but Optimus has a hell of a will to go even further. His primary weapons are a rifle-blaster and a newly-acquired sword-and-shield set. [Because Knight motifs.]
Optimus also carries the Matrix of Leadership - an ancient artifact that brought him back from death, in addition to reviving his old mentor. It once housed the spirits of his ancestors, the Ancient Primes, but whether or not it still has any power left within it remains unknown. If nothing else, it can still do a cool little floaty thing.
● INVENTORY:
Himself, his sword/shield, his gun, and also the Matrix.
He will also carry what is called a 'Seed'; he was trying to find a place to put it when he arrived. When activated, it essentially converts any matter within a certain radius to raw 'Transformium' (human term, not what they call it, sob) which is the matter that makes up Cybertronian protoforms. So, yeah. Optimus will be very much interested in find a place to secure it so it cannot be misused.
● GAMEPLAN:
When brought here, Optimus already has a mission; find these so-called 'Creators' himself and Deal With Them. His primary concern will be getting back to such mission, but once he accepts that it may be a bit his new goal will be to help stabilize the area and all the chaos - because that, in turn, is what's preventing him from the real deal. He'll probably try to help organize what's going on, with his Natural Leadership SkillsTM and otherwise make sure everyone here does what they can to help things.
So basically; be a Boss. That's his goal, mind.
As for how I'd like him to develop, I want to see what he does when in a somewhat less stressful situation than he's been in for the past decade; there's threats, yes, but nothing that's going to be anything near what he was dealing with before. He won't exactly be taking a vacation, but how do you make a big guy relax when he's probably forgotten how to do so?
Let's find out!

As I understand it, very few of us have any experience with the sort of events that have brought us here. This does not surprise me; from what has been explained, this is a matter beyond anything which I thought possible. But the fact remains that it is not only possible, it has happened, and we are here to deal with the effects.
If we are to find a solution, and to return to our homes, then we must work together and use the experiences we do have.
Many years ago, I led the Science Division of my people. My own passion was history and archaeology. While the temporal sciences here may be beyond me, I trust I can put my skills to use in finding data for the rest of you. Especially with the more hostile stabilizations that could pose a danger.
Which of you could assist me, whether it be directly or in the creation of a support net?
